Dinosaur State Park, CT

Dino State Park is located in Rockland, Connecticut.  We visited early in the day (May 2015) when crowds were non-existent. We were hoping for an interesting, educating, and entertaining outing to share with our nine year granddaughter Ella.  It proved to be the perfect choice for a weekend day trip.

Description from their site
"If you like dinosaurs, you'll love our 200 million-year-old fossil trackway, interactive exhibits and the chance to cast your own dinosaur footprint to take home."
There is a daily admission fee at Dinosaur State Park.  Adults ages 13 and up are $6 youth ages 6 - 12 are $2 and children under 6 are free.

Seeing the fossil tracks of actual dinosaur footprints was an exciting experience.  The footprints have not been moved but this museum was constructed over the original site in order to preserve the remarkable discovery which was made in 1966.

We shared a wonderful morning at the park, inside and out, then enjoyed lunch at a restaurant nearby,
discussing what we had seen and learned.
It was a fun day!
