My house is painted a very safe and elegant gray with the entrance a sedate contrasting black.
I really do love it,
and we have repainted three times using the same palette since having it built in 1986.

I've added color by planting flowering trees and bushes, many perennials
plus using pots of splashy annuals.
My one concession to year round color is the front porch swing and arbor which are mauve...
not a big statement I know.
There are times, though, that I become wistful..
like when I came across these enchanting homes below looking so vibrant against the snowy environment.
They remind me of Disney's Sleeping Beauty...
when the fairy godmothers' were arguing
over the color of her birthday gown....
"Make it BLUE!!" "Make it PINK!!".
I need to get me one of those magic wands...
think of the possibilities!
Especially during this upcoming snowy week-end!
