Easter weekend

In too much of a rush Friday morning, I slipped off the bottom stairs on my way to the basement.  Fell hard onto my knees with feet hyper extended and curled under.  Ended up with some swelling, a little bruising, and lots of aches ...could have been worse.
In any case, it didn't stop our plans for the weekend.  We planted seeds of peas, arugula, and some herbs....if it involves digging in dirt, the kids are game.  They were, however, a little disappointed when nothing had sprouted by the next morning.  Made for a gardening lesson, this time on patience.  On Saturday we put together a fun "scavenger" hunt.   23 individual clues and I think they were only tripped up by 2 of them.   Later in the afternoon they expended a ton of energy roller skating outdoors, as we walked (and sometimes ran) along side. Took the new walkway that crosses over the river which was a big hit, especially when "downhill".   It was somewhat cloudy with a brisk wind off the water but invigorating and helped work up a good appetite for our family dinner.

Simple pleasures make the best memories.
....like taking a quiet walk .....

finding what just might be a place where fairies live

  visiting the baby lambs...

and picking another bouquet of daffodils.

Of course, wearing new "big girl" Easter shoes tops some lists.
In the end all the Easter eggs were found......
treats and trinkets abound.

Hope you, too, enjoyed a wonderful weekend.
  HAPPY EASTER!
